“We have been using SLFi… synthetic biodegradable hydraulic oil in our hydaulic power units as our standard hydraulic oil for around 4 years now.
I had done extensive research on the different biodegradable and synthetic hydraulic oils to see which one best suited our applications as well as for our equipment. This research lasted a little over a year. It was determined that the SLFi… Bio Green and Gold was the oil that we choose to use as our standard hydraulic oil. It has been a pleasure working with Mike Gandy of SLFi. He has constantly asked what he can do to help make the oil better for our use. Mike was helpful in getting the oil blend modified to better suit our specific needs. Our oil has a very low pour point so it will pour even in sub freezing environments. It also sticks to our internal surfaces better than conventional oils cutting down on the possibility of surfaces not submerged in oil creating rust in our system. Mike even added a UV dye to the oil to aid in finding those hard to find leaks. This has helped prolong the life of our hydraulic pumps and motors while helping us to leave the subsea environment we work in as clean as possible because it is the right this to do.”
